Wedding & Portrait Photography

So I was lucky enough to go down to DC to cheer my little brother on in his 100 mile bike race. He normally bikes 20 miles a day to work, then 20 miles back home. So he’s in shape like you wouldn’t believe (I was thinking ‘After a 15 minute treadmill run I’m like a dead fish’). But I was proud of DJ for pushing himself, for making a goal, and then accomplishing it. He and I are very much the opposite. In fact, he makes algorithmes for a computer company as a financial analysts. He loves it. Thinking about his job makes my brain explode. I can’t even do long division!

So here’s my goal for 2011: To bike with him in the next race. Not the 100 mile race- I might actually die. But I’m going to push for the 50 mile one. One year. 50 mile race. I love that DJ’s so passionate about something like biking and I really want to share this with him. But to do that, I have a lot of work ahead of me. So next time you see me, ask me how the 50 mile bike race is coming.

Um. Can I just say thank you to all my amazing couples who have met with me, booked me, and made my life so incredibly full? So full, in fact, that I’m completely booked for 2010 weddings.
That’s right. I’m lucky enough to say I’m 100% booked for weddings for 2010. I’m already getting a flood of couples for 2011 (2011 couples seem to be early birds!). For anyone who’s interested, I love love love to help couples find photographers with whom they mesh, and I have a good source of photographers to whom I love to refer. So if you’re on the lookout for 2010 wedding photographers and need some help, you can still email me at kelly@kellyprizel.com

But HOLD UP. I’m still taking Rock the Dress/Suit, Engagement, and Civil Ceremony bookings for 2010. So if you’re interested in one of those shoots, let me know.

So yeah. I’m a serious businesswoman now. You can see how very very serious I am from the picture below.

Me and Lara (the other founder of So You’re EnGAYged) at the B-List

To give you an idea of how much fun these two are, guess how they met? Competitive salsa dancing. Yup. Amazing story. I can’t wait for their first dance in a few weeks! It’s going to be just hotness.

But I have a huge soft spot for these two because they are getting married at 6th and I Historic Synagogue in DC. My wife worked there for a year and I fell in love with the place. Yes they have rock concerts there. And famous poets. But the space also is the oldest synagogue in the city with the architecture to prove it. I didn’t know about the space when I was getting married and it’s still a real secret in DC.

D’Alizza and I instantly bonded. We both converted to Judaism from Catholicism. We both have celiac disease (go gluten free girls!!). How many Jewish converts who have celiac disease and are so nice-you-instantly-talk-for-2-hours-on-the-phone do you meet every day? And biiiiiig high fives to Lonny for dressing to the nines for the shoot. I saw him and was ‘omg…this is going to be so good’.
