Mystic Connecticut has such a draw for me. Waking up and driving north, watching the sunrise gradually as I pull into a parking spot. Mystic is quiet, free of people and free for me to hop all over. Ana and Beth were ready, hair whipping around on this cool Fall day. There was some blanket hogging. And some very precarious walking to get juuuuust right on the rocks. But mostly there was quiet in the air. We talked, a lot, but there is always this peace during sunrise shoots that I just soak in.

Rock Creek Park is kinda like Central Park for DC. It’s smack in the city and I drove by it almost everyday. People playing soccer, grilling, running, walking their dog…and you can also find quiet in the Park. So with an early rise, Melyna and Lisa met me at Rock Creek Park. Bright colors. A dress I tried not to steal because of how awesome it looks when you twirl. And we just relaxed, let the creek bubble behind us, and enjoyed the sun.

New York City is perfect for including dogs in an engagement session. I don’t know what it is but kissing shots with dogs in the city just make me happy. So we wandered around their neighborhood near Tompkins Square Park. With bright green cafe chairs and plenty of meaningful spots to capture. Plus…again…an adorable dog.
